Dr. Rebecca Harding is one of the most respected international economists today specialising in trade, the future of supply chains, and the workings of trade finance. Until January of 2023 she was CEO of Coriolis Technologies, providing Data As a Service to the trade finance sector. In this role she was nominated to the Women in FinTech Powerlist. Rebecca is co-author of The Weaponization of Trade: the Great Unbalancing of Policy and Economics, now a benchmark for US EXIM Competitiveness reports. Rebecca speaks on investment, employment, manufacturing, inflation, energy, and the prospects for economies around the world.

Rebecca Harding has spoken extensively on new technology and the economics of climate change, decarbonisation and the impact on the renewables sector of the weaponisation of gas, oil, energy supply, on how emerging Asia will probably win the war in renewables development technologies, and on China’s ‘One Belt One Road’ approach towards achieving zero carbon. She is an authority in the future of financial tech including cloud-based solutions, the uses of blockchain and the possible future role of crypto-currencies.

Rebecca Harding is advisor to the Council of the Society of Professional Economists a member of the World Trade Board and former Chief Economist of the British Bankers’ Association. She has held senior roles in business and academic institutions internationally. These include Founder and CEO of Delta Economics, CEO of Equant Analytics and as a Senior Fellow at London Business School. She was also Global CEO of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, Head of Corporate Research at Deloitte and Chief Economist at the Work Foundation. In her early career she was Senior Lecturer at the Science Policy Research Unit, Sussex University, and a Reader in Economics at the University of Brighton. Rebecca was a Specialist Advisor to the Treasury Select Committee and Chief Economic Advisor to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Entrepreneurship.

Rebecca is a Director of the German British Forum, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Arts, an Academician for the Academy of Learned Societies for the Social Sciences and a Member of the Society of Professional Economists. Her media work includes frequent and recent appearances on BBC Business LIVE, The Ian King Show, Sky News, Radio 5 live, Newsnight, Radio 4 and BBC World. Rebecca is a regular guest anchor on CNBC’s Squawk Box and is a regular reviewing the papers on BBC’s The Briefing. She is cited frequently in the broadsheet press, with recent pieces in the Financial Times, the Telegraph and City AM and citations in the Times, Sunday Times, and via The Economist.

During 2020 and 2021 Rebecca Harding and Coriolis were commissioned to track and trace bottlenecks in the Coronavirus global medical equipment supply chain and finance. In 2023 Rebecca is helping business to understand what sanctions against Russia mean for markets and explains what the implications of sanctions could mean for the wider world economy.
