Stephen is a media agency man that has earned a fearsome reputation as a public relations moderniser and consumer engagement advocate.
He’s a corporate insurgent who helps organisations build their reputation by listening and engaging with their audiences using new forms of media. He’s the author five books including Brand Anarchy and #BrandVandals, and the author of one of the most followed blogs in the media and public relations business.
Stephen is Chief Engagement Officer of international public relation firm Ketchum, responsible for driving the integration of digital and social capabilities across the agency’s global operations. He’s also Visiting Professor in Practice at the University of Newcastle, supporting the university and students through teaching and mentoring.
Stephen originally trained as a journalist before following a career in public relations. He has co-founded and run two award-winning public relations agencies.
He is a former President of the CIPR; a Chartered PR Practitioner; a Fellow (Hon) of the CIPR; and member of the City of London Public Relations Guild, PRCA, and PRSA.
