Speaker Dr Sue Black is a computer scientist and is the founder of BCSWomen – an organisation that provides networking opportunities, services and support to women in computing across the UK.
In 2015 Sue was declared to be amongst top ten Most Influential Women in the UK IT industry.
Dr Black is a leading voice in the fight to save the historic Bletchley Park and Station X for posterity. Sue’s brilliant use of social media has been key to raising awareness and support for the site, where intelligence people in World War II cracked German “Enigma’ cryptography creating the intelligence known as ‘Ultra’ – almost certainly shortening the war by years.
Dr Sue Black is Professor of Computer Science and technology evangelist at Durham University. At Durham she leads the TechUPWomen prgramme offering training for women from under-served communities in technology careers.
