Fred MacAulay is a Scottish comedian who for 18 years presented MacAulay and Co for BBC Radio Scotland. A regular at the Edinburgh festival, Fred started as a stand-up in 1988, with an appearance at Glasgow’s Mayfest, and regularly tours and takes part in comedy festivals across the world. He was also the first ever Scotsman to work as compère at London’s Comedy Store.
Fred has appeared on countless television shows, including Have I Got News For You (where he previously worked as a warm-up act), QI, Mock the Week and They Think It’s All Over. He also co-hosted McCoist and MacAulay, with Scottish football legend Ally McCoist for the BBC and has frequently appeared on radio panel shows, including Just a Minute, The Unbelievable Truth and The News Quiz.
Fred has proven himself more than willing to do his bit for charity, having appeared in Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, where he lasted for a respectable seven nights before being voted off. He has also climbed mount Kilimanjaro and kayaked the Caledonian Canal (in miserable conditions) for Sport Relief.
