With her famous chutzpah and brash interview style Ruby Wax interrogated celebrities from Madonna to Donald Trump. Her media savvy let her to get away with asking the questions others interviewers didn’t dare to ask – and attracted the some of the greatest names in show business as guests. After three decades in television and a slew of TV shows in her name Ruby’s career has evolved. Today she’s a highly motivated activist for mental health.

Ruby hopes to to be able to provide a little help on just how to survive the 21st century. Using mindfulness techniques that she has utilised in her own life Ruby demonstrates to people ways of coping with the demands of modern living. Having studied psychology at the University of Berkley before moving to pursue an acting career, Ruby was returning to her roots in psychology and is now a Visiting Professor in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Surrey, an Alumna of Regents University London School of Psychotherapy who awarded her an honorary in 2013. Her campaigning for mental health awareness led to her becoming Patron of the British Neuroscience Association and ambassador for MIND and SANE as well as being on the board at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. Ruby’s TED speech on the importance of viewing mental health as on par with physiological health is one of the most popular on the subject.
Awarded an OBE for her services to mental health, Ruby has worked recently with the Home Office to raise awareness on mental health issues and has collaborated with Google on how technology can be an aid to mindfulness.
As a motivational speaker, host and motivator Ruby talks not only on mental health with humour and insight but also on effective communication within organisations.
