Space journalist, broadcaster and award-winning author, Sarah is an authority within the world of space innovation and research. As a passionate advocate for space travel she is a director for ‘Space Humanity’ a global non-profit organisation working to democratise access to space and to make it available to many more people.
Starting her career with a BSc in Physics with Astro-physics from the University of Leicester she went on to broadcast for the local BBC in the North of England in both news and weather before she became actively involved in the development of programmes covering science for BBC2 and BBC4.
In July 2011 she worked on behalf of the BBC at NASA to cover STS135 – the final space shuttle launch. She has not only developed, presented and produced popular science programmes such as Coast, Newsround, Horizons, and Stargazing Live becoming a trusted voice on space and science to the public and industry alike.
In 2012 Sarah left the BBC to become an independent broadcaster. She is now a preferred expert to comment on the field of space exploration appearing frequently on National Geographic, The Discovery Channel and major news stations. Sarah’s unique industry experience puts her in a position of not only understanding the science of her work, but how insights into how industry and business can translate the science into business opportunity.
Sarah’s goal is to inspire people about why space matters. She has worked internationally as a host and public speaker to inspire people about our possibilities in space. She has worked with teams from NASA, ESA, Space X, Google and Samsung to name a few and is delighted to have presented live to audiences with British astronaut Tim Peake and with Buzz Aldrin.
