James Robinson

James Robinson is the senior political advisor who ran the media strategy for Tom Watson MP in his successful bid to become Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. He left the heart of opposition as Director of Communications for the Deputy Leader. For business today James provides an analysis of the most likely policy landscapes of the Labour administration including consequences for financial markets, nationalisation, public utilities, defence, NATO, and relatiuonships with allies including America and the European Union.

He left the heart of opposition in 2018 to focus on providing high-level advice to major corporations, CEOs and prominent individuals on how to manage their relationship with the media, particularly in times of crisis.

Before this James spent ten years at The Guardian and The Observer where he was media editor. He is married to Gloria de Piero MP and is author of The Larry Diaries, a memoir by the famous Downing Street cat, and a crime novella Hacked to Death.
