Samantha Simmonds

Journalist, broadcaster, influential blogger, motivational speaker and presenter Samantha Simmonds has over 20 years experience in journalism and broadcasting. Starting her career on local radio Yorkshire she has produced for Channel 5 News, presented for BBC London, and been anchor on Sky News for over a decade.

During her time in broadcast journalism Samantha has brought serious stories to the nation including the deaths of Amy Winehouse, Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson. She covered the sentencing and execution of Sadam Hussein, political coverage of the EU referendum live from Gibraltar, several general elections and the terror attacks on Brussels and Tunisia. She was one of the first on the ground in New York to cover the post 9/11 events and similarly one of the first to interview survivors emerging from the Edgware Road Tube station immediately after the July 7^th Bombing.

Samantha’s style is informal, relaxed and inviting making guests feel at ease and allowing her to host seamlessly both corporate events and broadcast interviews. She is a great anchor for the discussion of topical events allowing constructive debate to allow, and enabling coverage from opposing views to be aired in a controlled and respectful way.

As a mother of three and an advocate for issues surrounding women in work, Samantha writes an influential blog about her lifestyle and juggling work and family interests. This blog has seen her regularly invited onto daily TV and Radio broadcasts to discuss such issues and she writes for the Daily Express, Huffington Post and Mirror as a candid guest columnist.

In recognition of her work and personal investment into her various roles, she was recently awarded in the House of Lords the 2017 International All Ladies League, Women of Excellence award.
