MENUJamie Susskind is a speaker, author and is a practicing barrister. He speaks and writes on how the digital world will shape our futures in an era of artificial intelligence and Generative AI.
By the age of twenty-one Jamie Susskind had already written speeches for Members of Parliament in the United Kingdom House of Commons and for United States Senators. As a teenager, Jamie was ranked Best Schools Debater In The World and in 2007 became only the second commoner in history to speak at the opposition despatch box in the British House of Lords.
At Oxford University, where he studied history and politics at Magdalen College graduating first in his year, he was awarded the Edward Tomlinson Memorial Prize for the best speech delivered at the Oxford Union. And whilst qualifying as a barrister he was awarded the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn’s most prestigious advocacy prize.
Today he is an author, speaker and he is a practising barrister having been called to the bar in 2013.
His most recent book Future Politics: Living Together in a World Transformed by Tech confronts some of the most important questions of today: how will digital technology – transform politics, power, and society. The Guardian review described the book as ‘crucial reading … superb and necessary’.
As a speaker Jamie speculates on how technology will be used to control individuals and society not only by governments in order to win elections but also by the big Silicon Valley technology companies and what new codes of morality and ethics the future will demand.
Called to the bar in 2013 Jamie Susskind is a member of Littleton Chambers.
‘Original and thought-provoking…groundbreaking’ – Gordon Brown, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom 2007-2010.
