Richard Ayoade

Multi award winning comedian, actor, writer and director, Richard has followed in the footsteps of comedy legends Eric Idol, Hugh Laurie, and others by being President of the Cambridge Footlights Club whilst studying law at Cambridge University. He went on to have critically acclaimed success in acting roles from The Mighty Boosh to the Award-winning IT Crowd where his socially oblivious character Maurice Moss was awarded best comedic performance by BAFTA 2014.

He has released two books: The Grip of Film and Ayoade on Ayoade both comedic, both about film and both published by Faber and Faber.

Having written and directed numerous collaborations and independent roles, his most recent feature film Submarine was both written and directed by Ayoade and was nominated for best debut writer/director by BAFTA. Current television projects include hosting Travel Man, Gadget Man (replacing Stephen Fry) and The Crystal Maze for Channel 4. He is also a frequent guest presenter on popular panel shows such as the Big Fat Quiz of The Year, A League of Their Own and Was It Something I Said. With his deadpan style and intelligent cynical observations Richard has the ability to light up popular entertainment and bring charm and charisma to presenting, hosting and guest speaking.
