Merryn Somerset Webb is Editor in Chief of Moneyweek, the UK-based personal finance magazine. She writes also for the Financial Times, Saga Magazine, and Scotland’s Sunday Post.
Formerly an institutional broker for SBC Warburg in Tokyo Merryn went on to work for BNP Paribas in London.
Today she is a highly respected commentator and speaker on financial markets, economic affairs, and on personal finance. She was named Personal Finance Journalist of the Year in the 2017 Harold Wincott Awards recognising outstanding achievement in economic, business and financial journalism. Judges said that Merryn had become the doyenne of UK personal finance journalism and that “Merryn’s weekly columns in the FT are essential reading for anyone concerned about house price trends, pension policy and the fund management industry’s egregious charging practices”.
In 2007 Merryn published her first book Love is Not Enough, a personal finance work aimed at women.
