Peter Plisner is a former BBC business and transport correspondent with many years of experience in journalism. He now runs a successful consultancy business, as well as writing for a number of publications. He’s had a varied career having worked in engineering, photography, and as a financial correspondent for a national news network.
Peter has worked on many nationally significant stories, including reporting on new road and rail infrastructure and aviation, as well as the economic impact of recessions and more recently, the pandemic. Peter speaks on issues related to transport policy and its impact on business and interprets big picture visions of UK transport future on city and regions. That currently includes Government moves to level-up and its impact on capital spending and the funding of infrastructure projects. During his career Peter’s been involved in scores of major transport schemes including construction of the M6 Toll, HS2, and many other big railway infrastructure upgrades.
