Ben Hammersley is expert on the digital world, on cybercrime, cyber-security and everything infosec.

He is a contributing editor of Wired Magazine, he has served as the Prime Minister’s ambassador to Tech City, and as a presenter of the BBC World News Cybercrimes. He covers cover developments in tech, culture, business and politics, and specialises in demystifying the digital and understanding cyberspace.

Ben is the guy who invented the term ‘podcast’ and in 2014 he began to look the dark world of hacking: at darknets and the prospect for cryptocurrencies, for BBC World and the BBC News series Cybercrime With Ben Hammersley. He is a Fellow at The Brookings Institute in Washington DC, a fellow at the Robert Schuman School of Advanced Study at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, and Innovator-in-Residence at the Centre for Creative and Social Technologies, Goldsmiths, University of London. He 64thingsis also a Member of the High Level Group on Media Freedom at the European Commission.

Ben is the author of five books, including 64 Things You Need To Know Now For Then, a guide to everything you need to know to survive in today’s world.

Ben was also previously Head of Digital at SIX Creative responsible for creating, building and managing a team dedicated to bringing internet strategy, design, and production to leading fashion and beauty brands.
