Specialist Speaker Dr Jack Lewis shows audiences how our brains work, how we make decisions in life and work, and how we can make even better decisions. His best-selling book Sort Your Brain Out teaches us how to re-wire our brains so as to be more creative, to improve mood and memory, to manage everyday stress, and to defend against the risks of dementia.

His latest book The Science of Sin – Why We Do The Things We Know We Shouldn’t provides fascinating insights into temptation how the traditional biblical Seven Deadly Sins help us to thrive in moderation, harm us in excess, and how they are used to market products and services. The book has now been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish.

Jack’s insights are practical and profitable – he helped consultant Deloitte to add a hundred million pounds to their bottom line with his talk for the team that pitched for Tesco’s auditing business. The presentation that made the difference – The Neuroscience of Decision Making – demonstrates how once we understand how our brains really make decisions, it is so much easier to get a client to get a mutually beneficial result.

Across seven consecutive events Dr Jack worked with ITV Global’s senior leadership team to help foster a culture of creativity through his Science of Innovation talk. He shares evidence-based insights into strategies that genuinely boost creative problem solving and others that, while hugely popular, don’t actually work – including brainstorming! This talk is often paired with a thirty minute interactive session that runs delegates through a scientifically valid method of creative ideation that Jack calls: The Brain Shake – absolutely invaluable for creative businesses.

Dr Jack’s talks on Building Resilience and Technology on the Brain have always gone down extremely well with Education Sector audiences keen to do more to look after their own mental health whilst under stress, as well as those of the young people in their care. Jack Lewis also puts together bespoke talks, upon request, for example – a talk on Unconscious Bias for the National Trust who wanted to understand how they could create marketing materials that appealed to a much broader demographic.

Jack Lewis has a first-class degree in neuroscience from the University of Nottingham, received his doctorate from University College London and went on to present a variety of science TV shows for the BBC, ITV, Discovery, Sky and Curiosity Stream.

In the past twelve months Dr Jack Lewis has delivered presentations and advice to the UK Ministry of Defence, the Crown Prosecution Service, Honda, Just Group and Asterion, the largest private equity fund in Spain and Portugal.
