William Wintercross

He is a geopolitical consultant with tremendous on-the-ground experience covering events from brutal civil wars to disease outbreaks and natural disasters in many parts of the world. Will began his career aged 19 in 2001 reporting for the Ngami Times in Botswana. This grounding in Africa led to more challenging work situations; he lived and worked documenting life in Romanian sanatoriums in 2002, covered wars in Syria, Iraq and Libya, and made multiple trips to West Africa and the DR Congo to cover various Ebola outbreaks. Will is co-Founder of the Syrian Refugee Relief Fund charity established over a decade ago, supporting thousands of children in the war-ravaged nation. To date, the fund has raised almost two million dollars to support the children of Syria.

He has worked assignments in Asia, Eastern Europe, Southern Africa, the USA, China and Russia. Most recently, Will has covered the fallout from the war in Ukraine for CNN and is currently researching a book about the doctors who faced immense danger to provide care during the war in Syria and how they are helping rebuild the shattered healthcare system.
