Carl Astorri is a global strategist in wealth management. He appears regularly on BBC, Sky News and Bloomberg, analysing financial trends and markets. Carl studied Economics at Bath University and holds an MSc in Economics and Finance from Bristol. He began his career in the Bank of England, first in the Wholesale Markets Supervision Division (covering the gilts market), and then as an economist.
After working as Head of Investment Strategy at Barclays Wealth he joined Coutts to lead the bank’s asset strategy, formulating the bank’s views on all major global asset classes. He built a team to oversee £35 billion of sterling, euro and dollar multi-asset portfolios for Coutts UK and other banks.
In 2012 Carl joined Oxford Economics and worked with Ernst and Young, presenting extensively to C-suite clients in many different settings.
Carl is now head of asset allocation and research at AustralianSuper Pty and heads the AustralianSuper fund investment strategy team.
