Kirsty Wark

Kirsty Wark is one of the most experienced news personalities on British television today. Born in Dumfries, she has spent her life in current affairs starting on BBC Radio Scotland in 1982. She was one of the first reporters on the Lockerbie disaster. Kirsty has hosted the BBC flagship Newsnight since 1993 plus a host of other shows. Her interviewing style can be combative and tough – she has interviewed many of the greatest names from Madonna to Maggie Thatcher, from Pinter to Pete Doherty. From 2002 to 2014 she chaired the arts spin-off show Newsnight Review. She reached the final in Celebrity Masterchef in 2011 and has hosted BBC2 culinary quiz A Question of Taste.

Kirsty is a superb moderator, well informed and highly skilled. As well as receiving awards as Journalist of the Year and Best Television Presenter, she is a great favourite as an awards host in London and in Scotland.
