Ian King is two time winner of the British Journalist of the Year Award. Former Business and City editor at the Times and Business Editor at The Sun, Ian replaced Jeff Randell as Sky News lead business correspondent in 2014. After ten years in the role, in December 2024 it was announced that Ian has left Business Live and that he will leave Sky News early in 2025.

Ian began his career as an analyst at HSBC before embarking on his journalism career at the Telegraph, going on to The Guardian then Mail on Sunday and later as Business and City Editor at the Times. He has seen the media change rapidly and speaks on the expectations for future growth in a multitude of markets. He is superbly informative about the impact of the digital age on news delivery, the news cycle,  how the shelf life of exclusive stories has been cut from weeks to hours, and how social media has changed the way business responds to crisis.
