Heather Mills, entrepreneur, is looking to change the way we eat. For more than a decade she has worked to bring vegan food to a mass market, from a single cafe in Brighton, to the establishment of three manufacturing vegan food factories in her native North East of England.
As a young model, more than two decades ago, Heather suffered horrific injuries when she was struck by a police motorcycle, crushing her pelvis and puncturing a lung. She lost her left leg below the knee but Heather continued in her modelling career, took up journalism and writing, and established the Heather Mills Health Trust to supply prosthetics to people, especially children, who had lost limbs to landmines.
In 2005, Heather Mills had became Patron of the British animal rights organisation Viva! and the Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation. Following her marriage to Sir Paul McCartney Heather became increasingly an increasingly vocal speaker on animal welfare and ever more involved in the movement for greater animal rights. Today her company VBites is a plant-based meat alternative and vegan cheese manufacturer company selling into twenty-four countries.
Heather is also a gold medal winning para-athlete in ski racing, a world record holder in four winter sports, and as at 2019 she is the fastest disabled female speed-skier in the world at over 166km/h.
