Ginny Buckley

Specialist Speaker Ginny Buckley is an authority in automotive broadcasting and journalism and is the founder of independent brand electrifying.com, demystifying and democratising the electric car market. The multi-channel digital platform helps car buyers make their choice with expert advice from a trusted, female-led team in a sector where women are a key driver in 85% of purchase decisions.

One of the first female motoring editors of a UK national newspaper and a former Sky News anchor, Ginny is also the motoring editor for the UK’s biggest selling women’s magazine Good Housekeeping and contributes to GQ on the subject of electric cars. Well connected with the global automotive industry, Ginny is juror and advisor for the prestigious World Car of the Year awards and reports on transport and consumer related issues for the ITV1 Current Affairs programme Tonight.

Ginny works at UK Government level, speaking on electric cars and the consumer at the Department for Transport hosted zero emission vehicle summit, and has works at board level with companies like Jaguar Land Rover and Google.

As a keynote speaker Ginny’s areas of expertise include the automotive industry, electric vehicles and infrastructure, along with autonomy and global trends. As an experienced live television presenter, reporter and host she’s able to think on her feet and she is just as comfortable in the pit lane, as she is interviewing a CEO or celebrity. Other presenting credits include BBC1’s Crimewatch Roadshow and Watchdog along with ITV’s Granada Men and Motors, where she produced and presented motoring programmes for many years. Ginny currently presents the iconic BBC One programme Escape to the Country, which is broadcast in 52 countries, having been the host of the BBC’s celebrated global hit travel show Holiday.

Ginny lives in Oxfordshire and for the past decade has sat on the Board of Trustees for the Manchester United Foundation, where she works to engage and empower young people, with a particular focus on STEM and sport. Ginny is also passionate about encouraging and supporting young women and girls who have an interest in the car industry.
