Biography

Ginny Buckley’s career has taken her from the pit lane to the studio, from national newspaper motoring desks to government summits on the future of transport.

One of the first female motoring editors of a UK national newspaper, she went on to become a Sky News anchor and presenter across BBC and ITV, including BBC One’s Escape to the Country and the BBC’s global travel series Holiday, as well as Crimewatch Roadshow, Watchdog and ITV’s Granada Men and Motors, where she produced and presented motoring content for many years. That broadcasting background gives her a rare combination of deep industry knowledge and the ability to communicate it clearly to audiences who may know very little about cars.

In 2017 she founded electrifying.com, now the UK’s leading independent platform for electric vehicle advice. Built around a trusted, female-led editorial team, the platform helps everyday consumers cut through the noise surrounding the EV transition. Its mission reflects Ginny’s belief that the shift to electric mobility will only succeed if it works for ordinary people, not just early adopters. For the past decade she has served on the Board of Trustees of the Manchester United Foundation, working to engage and empower young people with a particular focus on STEM and sport.
