Claudia Winkleman

Presenter, film critic, journalist, Claudia Winkleman is the warm bumbling fringe that makes every programme or event feel like a personal invitation into her world. (Claudia’s fringe had it’s own short-lived Twitter account!) She is now the most sought after female presenter on the BBC and has anchored both prime-time radio and TV.

Claudia graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in the History of Art and initially became a travel writer on both the Sunday Times and The Independent. Now known for her TV work, Claudia’s journalism continues but now with lifestyle contributions covering everything from sex and relationships to current affairs. She has contributed to Cosmopolitan and The Tatler and has a weekly column in the Sunday Times.

Claudia’s first major TV appearance was on topical regional programme Central Weekend. A year later she secured a place on the BBC series Holiday as well as interviewing celebrities on This Morning. In 2002 she got her first daily role on BBC 3 show Liquid News and in the following year presented Fame Academy before getting her first break into the Strictly consortium in 2005 presenting Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. Claudia focused on the behind the scenes gossip of the flagship programme, employing her wit and charm to encourage contestants to relax and really open up. After the departure of Sir Bruce Forsyth she became the main presenter of the flagship prime time Strictly Come Dancing Saturday night show alongside Tess Daly.

Claudia has won the Presenter of the Year award with her Strictly co-host alongside a Royal Television Award for Best Presenter and was nominated for a BAFTA. And in 2023 she hosted the five-part Channel 4 competition show The Piano which gave gifted amateur pianists the opportunity to perform at the Royal Festival Hall.

Claudia’s corporate portfolio is especially diverse and has included video work for for John Lewis, Clark’s and BAA, hosting for the Samsung 3D TV launch, and fronting campaigns for Cadbury’s and Air New Zealand. She has hosted numerous awards ceremonies including the prestigious British Fashion Awards, In-style Awards, HSBC, GQ Food and Drink Awards, Glamour Women of the Year and many more including live broadcasts for telethons such as Comic Relief and Sport Relief. Claudia also made the most of her knowledge of tans, sequins and salsas to host the first ever Comic Relief Danceathon. And, of course, in 2025 Claudia Winkleman is host on BBC One of the British version of De Verraders, known in the UK as The Traitors.
