MENUReporte and presenter Julie MacDonald cast her talents across the outputs of GMTV, ITV’s London Tonight and BBC’s Breakfast News and for Al Jazeera in 2006 to 2007.
She began her TV journalism career with ITV’s News Channel and went on to become Channel 5’s Entertainment correspondent – fronting the channel’s flagship breakfast show and producing/presenting for both general news and entertainment inc: live coverage of awards and premieres ie: The Berlin Film festival, Comedy Awards and the Baftas).
In 2001 Julie co-presented Channel 5’s News at Breakfast and went on to writing and presenting Core News on Five, a weekly news show for teenagers.
In 2002 Julie reported for The Edit on Five – writing, editing and producing her own packages from start to screen.
Julie’s Scottish brogue was heard weekly on Simon Mayo’s Radio 5 Live Panel contributing her take on the television and media news of the day.
Now a media pundit, she delivered industry news pieces to other outlets on Radio Five Live and as such has also sat opposite the great John Humphreys for a Today grilling. Her radio credits began at LBC – as producer of The Simon Bates Breakfast Show and Nick Ferrari in the morning.
With an MA in Geography and International Relations underpinning her post-graduate qualifications in Broadcast Journalism, Julie brings a strong blast of fresh air and integrity to the media.
