Alex Flynn

Alex Flynn is an Adventurer, ultra-athlete, speaker, brand champion, film producer, writer, business consultant and lawyer, who attracts global media attention.

He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2008. This has become the catalyst in his life for showing people the possibility of creating positive change in the face of adversity. He can be found doing some of the more complex, unexpected and, more often than not, dangerous challenges across the planet to raise awareness and hopefully more than £1million towards vital research to find a cure.

So far, in the face of adversity, under the banner of a challenge entitled 10MillionMetres, Alex has completed many marathons, ultra endurance races, and triathlons, examples of which include:

The gruelling Marathon des Sables (250 km race across the Sahara Desert),

running 160 miles across the Bavarian Alps in 52 hours

1,735 miles from London to Rome to meet the Pope in 30 days (400 miles of which was run with a stress fractured right tibia and completing 20 marathons in 10 days),

Becoming the first person to traverse the 3,256 miles from Santa Monica to New York using four distinct disciplines. He achieved this distance and 35 days and appeared on BBC One, One show over two consecutive nights.

In 2013 he traversed the Amazon basin, climbed and ran 90 km of the Dolomites and 236 km across the Colorado Rockies.

On the 24th January 2014, the 10MillionMetres Challenge was completed at the Standard Chartered Dubai marathon him more than 6,200 miles of races around the world.

Alex plans to row the Pacific Ocean and is currently awaiting the launch of his first book chronicling his 10MillionMetres Challenge. The first documentary film of his adventures has recently been produced for television.

A prolific adventurer and extensive world traveller, Alex is experienced in dealing with and encountering different cultures, terrain, and adventure. As a writer he has contributed to magazines and newspapers both in the UK and internationally. In addition he has undertaken training and speaking engagements to motivate and energise the employees and work teams of companies in over 16 countries and has addressed industry leaders and heads of state worldwide.
