MENUFrankie Boyle catapulted onto the comedy scene by winning the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award way back in 1996. Since then, the Glaswegian’s trademark quick fire delivery of often controversial humour has established him as one of the hottest names in comedy.
Well known for his role as a panelist on comedy show Mock the Week he has also appeared on 8 Out of 10 Cats, Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, You Have Been Watching, Would I Lie to You? and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
He left Mock the Week to write and host his own typically uncompromising show Frankie Boyle’s Tramadol Nights. His one-off special The Boyle Variety Performance transmitted on Channel 4.
Frankie has enjoyed three sell-out nationwide tours culminating in arena dates, the most recent being The Last Days of Sodom. The tours have all been recorded and released on DVD. His first DVD, Frankie Boyle Live, was the second fastest selling debut stand-up release, selling just under 16,000 copies on its first day.
Frankie Boyle returned to the BBC with Frankie Boyle’s New World Order in which Frankie makes two statements and discusses them with guests. The show premiered on June 8 2017.
His autobiography My Shit Life So Far, published in 2009, made it onto the Times Bestseller List. His second book Work! Consume! Die! was published in 2011. In 2017 he published Your Guide To Hell and in 2018 the graphic novel Rex Royd with Mike Dowling. In 2020 he published ‘The Future of British Politics’ which looks at some of the forces that will be key in coming years.
