A respected author and natural broadcaster, Professor Kate Williams brings history to life for readers, viewers and listeners with her expert knowledge of modern history, royalty and constitutional affairs. As well as being Professor of Modern History at Reading University, Kate has written seven books, including three novels and four non-fiction works.

Kate lends her historical expertise to numerous TV and radio shows, often appearing on The Great British Bakeoff, Newsnight and the Today programme among many others. As a presenter she has delved into the life of a young Queen Victoria for Timewatch, examined property histories for Restoration Home and looked at the importance of VE day for its 70th anniversary on the BBC.

Kate works with CNN as their in-house historical analyst providing detail and highlighting the historical relevance of significant events and even delves into politics, covering aspects of the Scottish Referendum alongside Andrew Neil for the BBC.
