Antony Slumbers is expert in the future of commercial real estate.

Antony is widely recognised as the leading authority in the field of PropTech. He is the founder of Estates Today and Cityoffices.net and has designed, coded, hosted and managed multiple commercial real estate industry websites (including pan European operations of King Sturge for 10 years). He has a keen insight into fast-evolving property markets.

He began his career in the sector as a developer in the late 1980’s through early 1990’s and after selling Businessparks.net in 2000, he launched British Council for Offices (BCO) Research Portal. In the same year he co-founded Vicinitee with Broadgate Estates, the Property Management arm of British Land plc, the client base for which includes Land Securities, Argent, Oxford Properties, The Shard, The Heron Tower, The Gherkin, Grosvenor, Hammerson. Vicinitee ultimately grew to serve over 400+ properties, 7,000 occupiers, 15,000 + FM users and 720,000+ system users. In 2006 Antony sold his 50% share of Vicinitee to British Land.

In 2007 he founded Glasnost21.co.uk, a software as a service suite of productivity tools including Contacts, Project & Image Management and Pipeline, a business development tracking tool. Since 2014 he has written a monthly column on Technology & Property in the Estates Gazette and as a result has become a Top 20 #PropTech influencer according to the Lendinvest rankings and number 16 in Onalytica’s Global #PropTech rankings.

In 2017 Antony finally left Vicinitee to concentrate on wider Tech/Real Estate initiatives. He is currently heavily involved with his Business PropAI where they are trying to develop artificial intelligence that would increase the efficiency of commercial Real estate. He reached No 1 Non-US CRE Blog & Person to follow on Twitter – Duke Long’s annual Top 100 Lists.

Anthony speaks throughout Europe sharing insights into the future of office, retail, and hospitality property post-Covid including new business models and the development of ‘Space as a Service’. His key themes today are AI, innovation, and the future of work and the workplace. He speaks about how technology is redefining how we work, shop and live, and the opportunities and threats in a changing world. And above all how to maximise upside whilst minimising downside in volatile markets.
