Lorne Spicer

Journalist and television presenter Lorne is a renowned expert in the areas of personal finance and antiques. Lorne has been one of the faces of BBC 1 Daytime fronting hugely successful series including Car Booty and Cash in the Attic. Lorne was also the presenter and expert on Beat the Bailiff and on My Life for Sale – a programme about buying and selling on eBay inspired by Lorne’s book Find a Fortune published by Orion.

Other work includes the hugely successful Moneyspinners for the BBC and also fronted Everything Must Go for ITV, in which she valued the collectibles in a house before selling them off on the same day!

Lorne also hosted ITV1’s Bootsale Challenge, a show which she devised and presented for LWT for five series, before it was moved to ITV network. That show was LWT’s biggest success after Blind Date, attracting one million viewers in its Sunday evening 6.15pm regional slot. The show also goes out on Carlton TV. Lorne has also been a regular guest expert on money matters and collectibles for ITV1’s This Morning and GMTV.

Lorne wrote a weekly collectibles column in the Mail on Sunday. It was not unusual for her groundbreaking articles to form the basis of front page leads for Property Section of The Sunday Times and Guardian Money. Recent scoops included the sale of Minton’s Archive Collection, the closure of Mick Fleetwood’s website online auction and the sale of Nick Faldo’s Porsche. She also writes regularly for Period Living and Prima magazines.
