Piers Taylor speaker on architecture and presenter of The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes

One of the most exciting architects of our time, Piers Taylor has designed some challenging and highly significant new buildings including the RIBA Award Winning Room 13 and Moonshine, his own extraordinary house in Somerset, and winner of the AJ Small Project Award. In his design philosophy Piers is celebrated for really pushing at the bounds of process, technique, and cost.

Piers Taylor has founded two architectural practices, Mitchell Taylor Workshop and, more recently, Invisible Studio. He is formerly a Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge, and also a Studio Master at the Architectural Association. Plus, Piers has founded educational programs including the annual Studio in the Woods. Invisible Studio’s Wolfson Tree Management Centre at the Westonbirt Arboretum recently won a clutch of three RIBA Awards, the RIBA Sustainability Award and the RIBA Client of the Year Award.

To the TV viewing public Piers is known as co-presenter with Caroline Quentin of The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes on BBC Two. He has presented three seasons of self-build series The House that £100k Built – a programme winning an extraordinary three million viewers – unsurpassed for an architectural production. He also presents the house an home spin-offs Tricks of the Trade and The Final Fix.
